I can't believe I beat "High-speed Hobbs" to this one.

The Bay Area Miata Association (BAMA) puts on road rallyes.  There's
a Monte Carlo coming up, "Better late than lost," on Saturday
November 19th.  The rallyemasters, in addition to being charming and
handsome, are committed to taking you on some wonderful Miata roads
in the East Bay.  It's going to be a good rallye for people who
haven't run a Monte before but like maps and driving (but not
gimmicks like misspelled instructions).

There's also a very informal California group called the Blue Miata
Rallye Team, which enters...no, dominates...well, does ok at Monte
Carlos through California.
