Miateers: Last Friday, my driver side door speaker stopped producing sound for no apparent reason. Having just received my Workshop Manual, I proceeded to diagnose the problem. Following the manual's instructions, I removed the speaker and check the connection. It was fine. I then checked the speaker (4 Ohms resistance). No problem. (I even swapped speakers and both work fine in the passenger side door only!) Next I did a continuity check on the speaker wires. No sweat. I was aghast at the next step in the manual. It said "replace audio unit". Do I really need to do this?? Could it be something else? Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have a '90 B-pkg with factory stereo. No modifications anywhere in the sound system. ------------------------------------------------ NOTE: I wrote the above before I started my car this morning. Guess what? The speaker is working fine now!! So, has my audio unit flaked out on me? Thanks. JJ '90 Mariner Blue - NYBBLE
