Subject: 14 BTDC Mileage

Someone (was it Mike?) recently wrote to the list about the surprising 
improvement in mileage after making the adjustment timing to 14 BTDC.  I 
made the change Saturday evening (you have seen my posts to the list by 
now), and even after the first half tank of gas I've seen a 10% 
increase.  

I know that this is not conclusive test (gas gauge error, fuel pump shutoff 
inconsistencies, driving differences, weather changes, etc. etc make a 
much longer test period necessary), but it sure is a very good first 
impression.  Normally the top half of the tank yields 150 miles (almost 
to the mile), yesterday on a backroads tour in MD, I got through over 
170 miles on the top half of the tank.  

I'll be watching it closely in the future and will report results to the 
list as time goes on.
