Subject: Window Cable Replacement.  HELP!!

Dear fellow Miata Owners,

My power window cable has frayed and jammed.  Has anyone had the 
experience of replacing this cable?  Is it as much of a royal pain as it 
appears in the Miata Enthusiast's Shop Manual?  The manual explains that 
the glass and mechanism must be removed. (I really don't want to read 
this).  It also states that the bolts have to be marked so replacement 
can be done as precise as possible. (This sounds like a $400 shop 
job...$6.00 for the cable and $394 for labor).  Well, if anyone has any 
information....like pay the $400 and let the shop do it... or it sounds 
worse than it is...or you might get by if....   
Please let me know before winter sets in.
