Anyway, the only difference that's easy to see/feel is if you smack the rollbar stuff (hard, between two unforgiving objects), you can feel the dent afterwards, even if you can't see it. Pipe insulation returns completely. This is an indication of how much energy it has absorbed. All the best armor plating and bullet proofing is one-use, sacrificial stuff. kate
