My little '90 red baby is still going strong on her original battery,
shocks, and struts after about 36K miles.  In fact, everything is still
original about her (well, except oil, coolant, etc.).

However, the tires look like they are down to their last few thousand
miles (time to start the 'what tires should I buy' thread again? :-)
