I've heard through vendors that the Corbeau "Clubman" seats fit the
Miata.  (New England Auto Accessories claims to have sold several of
these for Miatas.)  Word from several sources is that most Recaro
seats are too wide.  Cobra, a company formed by an exec from Corbeau,
also makes a Clubman, with nearly identical features and size to the
Corbeau Clubman.  Price for these is typically $200-$300.  I think both
versions are available in wider widths, but I don't know how well these
fit the Miata.

I called MCA to ask them about aftermarket seats, since the magazine
frequently shows project cars with alternative seats.  They gave me
a couple pointers to chase down, but they were dead ends.

I've decided that the best alternative is to find a local race shop
that's willing to work with you to find a seat that fits.  I think there
are just too many variables to buy an aftermarket seat "blind" from
a mail-order company.
