-Register your car in another state. -To do so you need an adress. -Mail boxes etc, or any other mailing service will give you one. -Go to the registry in that state, tell them you've moved. -Get a new license, registration, and plate. -It need not be a state that requires only one plate if it is far away from your real home. (how many California cops know if Vermont requires two plates, and if they do it is a Vermont law being broken, not a California law.) -Seems like a lot of work? Make it worth you effort, pick a state that has no excise or sales tax on automobiles, and has low registration fees and low insurance rates. -This also works for other concerns, like strict emissions laws. -Just a thought for you to kick around.
