Subject: FRONT PLATE misadventure

Hey all!
My Miata is registered in CT, where a front plate is required. Since the 
front plate obstructs the "flame thrower effect" of illegal driving 
lights, I removed my plate. I know, I'm an absolute scofflaw! I keep the 
plate (still attached to the bracket) in the trunk. I was stopped by a 
State Trooper who wanted to write me up for this violation... my story 
was that it had come loose the other day and I was in the process of 
tracking down the appropriate hardware to reattach it. I had the plate in 
the trunk as "proof." He said "Hmmm... well get it fixed soon sir!"
