I'm sorry to hear about your accident Jonathan.  Youch.

When I banged up my RX-7 a few years ago (pre-miata) a friend mentioned
a bodyshop where he had seen many exotic cars.  This was a place in 
Boston, so I doubt the name would help you.  However:

I took my car there.  The owner was slightly difficult to work with,
but his work was superior.  On my 3rd visit he took me into the back
and conspiratorialy showed me his old Lamborghini (a Miura?) that
he was restoring.  He loved cars.

His typical customers were Porsches and Mercedes.  I think if you
follow this rule of thumb you stand a chance of getting some high
quality work done on your Miata - look for a shop with some high
dollar cars in front.  Good luck.  And I think this is
a GREAT time to get a BRG baby.
