---------------Original Message--------------- With all this welcome discussion, has anyone used a RADAR jammer? I see them advertized but never a review or opinion ... its appears legal in all states but Va. marv ----------End of Original Message---------- IMHO: If the FCC or the cops see you with one of these things you will get arrested for sure. Their use is illegal in all 50 states to the best of my knowledge. However...I think you can still *buy* one. It's sort of like a cable descrambler...you can have it but not use it. This is along the lines of the plans for a "radar gun calibration device" printed up in Radio Electronics magazine about 10 years ago. The device would allow you to broadcast a RADAR signal indicating that the target was going 25, 35 or 55 mph. The idea, of course, was that you would broadcast this signal at the cops RADAR gun, who would then be unable to discern your true speed. There were disclaimers galore in the article saying that this was illegal for uses other than calibration of RADAR guns. It's also worth mentioning that RADAR frequencies are restriced for broadcasting purposes...which this device or others like it would necesarily have to do. -Marc Gorelick White '91A
