Actually, I carry my kayak on Baby fairly frequently (and Baby's red, so 
it wasn't me you saw).  I use a Thule rear bike rack on the back and pad 
the windshield frame.  My boat sits perfectly level, and with the tie 
down hooks, it's pretty solid.  The biggest problem is the kayak wants to 
empty out the little dribbles into cockpit.  Oh well, that's the price 
you pay for having more fun than is necessary.
	This setup works well for windsurfers, too.  I love this car.
