Mine is currently on the passenger side dash.  It's been there for several
months.  You're right, it doesn't look that great, but I do think it looks
better than on the snout.  So far no complaints from the local militia.

My rationale is that at most I'd get a warning, given that I have the plate
and it's visible from the front.  Pick-em-ups do this all the time with
the rear plate in the back window.

We'll see...
