Sorry, Alice, I don't have an answer to your question, but I am taking
this opportunity to say two things about Miatas in the rain:

1.  Park nose-uphill if possible, so water doesn't collect in the nose
    or around the trunk opening.

2.  Roll your windows up with the doors open, then close the doors.
    This will ensure a watertight seal.

#2 could be the reason for the couple of soggy Miatas recently.

Alice, it rained steadily from Friday through Sunday at our place, too
(we got 5") but Wendy started right up Sunday morning after sitting
since Wednesday evening.  Good luck finding your culprit....
