Thanks to you all for the helpful messages about my window problem.

Here's the outcome.....

I brought the car to the dealer to get the power window fixed and expressed my
dissatification with a $5 part that broke in only 11K miles and cost $250 to
replace. The service mgr informed my that my car was out of warranty and the 
repair would cost $330 including labor.  Well, I kept pressing him telling him
that the windows are a problem spot in Miata and Mazda should take
responsibility for this.  (I used printed mailing list messages as proof!) I 
kept asking for the complaint hotline but he kept advoiding giving it to me.
Finally, after about 30 mins of complaining he told me that he would talk to 
the factory rep.....

He called back today and informed me that Mazda would pay for the part
if I paid for the labor (1 hour)!!!

I'm not sure if this suggests that there is some kind of secret 
warranty of the windows or not, but I'm happy!
