This was, if fact the installation on I have my plate mounted in this way. You do NOT need to cut or modify the plate in any way to get it to fit. Put the plate in at an angle, and once the top end is against the struts you will be able to rotate it slightly so that the bottom end comes against the struts as well. Then use a few cable ties to hold it and you are done! My temp gauge was very slightly higher on 90+ degree days when I was stuck in traffic with the AC on. Other than that the air flow blockage didn't seem to have any effect. reb
