I'll try and track down the owner and post details. I've got an '89 White Miata (actually August 88) with 78K miles and the original Jackson Cold Air Induction System with the glow wire mass air flow sensor. Until about 2 weeks ago I was getting lousy perfromance - no power at low revs and stumbling. Lester Seal (ace technician at Wellesley Mazda) tracked it down to to a dirty connection in the four-pin plug on the air flow sensor. Cleaned up the performance is back to normal. This makes me wonder if any of the other intermittment roughness experienced by other people is connected with the performance of any of the ECM sensors. Yes I have replaced the ignition cables. Does the Jackson system make a difference to performance? Yes but only at extremes. About two years ago I went to the Miata Drivers school at the Bridgehampton Circuit on Long Island. There were many flavours of Miata there. One guy had all the suspension mods you could think of and was fast through corners. However there is a long uphill with a full 180 bend and I could always get away from him up the hill. In day to day driving it doesn't make a significant difference.
