I remember hearing something about making radar detector use in large trucks
illegal... Did this ever become law?

I think if the police can use radar, then citizens are entitled to
detectors.. *BUT* in the case of 87wheel trucks where the possible
consequences of speeding are so disasterous, I'd throw any trucker in jail if
I caught him/her going more than 75mph...  It really makes me mad when I see
ARCO or TEXACO trucks cruising down california highways at 80mph....
