Hey everyone,

First of all I just want to say you guys and gals are great, I'm new to this 
thing and it has been alot of fun.

I would like to put my two cents worth in on the tire issue.  I too had an '87 
RX-7 with the Bridgestone RE-71(s) on it.  The best tires I've ever had on any 
of my cars.  The SF-325 I have now on my '93 miata are O.K. but not great(35,000
mi.).  I will need new tires soon and had already look at the price of the 
RE-71(s) for the miata, ~ ?73.  Now with the news of the racing version at ?40 I
can't wait to get them.  But I have never had racing tires.  I had one tire 
store shave my RE-71(s) once before, but that was to get rid of a flat spot.  
Can anyone give me any info on racing tires and why you would shave them if you 
were going to use them for everyday driving?
