I have been driving around with for the last 3 weeks with the spcial brew that I got from Roy Howell at Redline, I think it is MTL-80w-NS. It works a little better for me than the MTL but it still gets a thumbs down from me. Basically, it works OK (not great on cold days, a little better when the outside temp. gets above 50 deg., it is terrible on cold rainy days. I'm going to try the 75w90-NS that I have lying around next, maybe my car just like GL-5 better than GL-4 oil. I think Mazda went to the double ring syncro for the 93 model (my car) to facilitate better shifting, which could be the reason why MTL works in other cars but not the 93. Does any know for sure? In any case, I'll keep y'all posted. On the subject of kill switch, my mechanic has been installing battery kill switches in many of his customers' classic cars as a battery saving device since these cars hardly get driven. These switches require a key to re-engage and therefore serve as a theft deterence, you may want to look into these if you winterize your cars, the switch I saw was German made (very well made) and costs around $25. I reckon these switches are obsured enough that not too many thieves have them unless they are vintage car buffs. - Steve.
