This is absolutely true with the stock wheels/tires combi on both of my Miatas, I always thought the Miata was over sensitive to proper tyre pressure; funny enough, when I went with the plus 1 (15" wheels, series 50 tyres) the car became much less sensitive, I could run any where between 25 to 34 psi without shimmy. I attributed this to the Trackbar, or the Yoko A509, but perhaps there is more to it. In the MCA mag it has been stressed numerous times that the tire inflation is *absolutely* critical. They mentioned that the chronic wheel shimmy is affe cted by the tire pressure and that the rubber won't "heat up" properly with high er inflation than whatever was recommended (28psi?). Holycow batman, whose recommendation is 38 psi for Miata??? the car only weighs about a ton, the Miata factory manual certainly does not! Are you refering to the max. recommended pressure on the sidewall of the tyres? I can't imagine the ride quality of the Miata with 38 psi in the tyres, is your wristwatch still working? - Steve. I have had Pirelli P500s on my car for about 15K miles. The recommended inflation is 38PSI (which I maintain regularly). They are wearing great, wh
