Subject: Tires, tires, tires...

I've been following the very interesting and knowledgible postings on
tires. I am getting ready to replace my Bridgestones. I've seen the Dunlop
high performance tires advertisement in my Miata Club magazine. But are
these good in bad weather? I had alway been told high performance tires
won't do well in snow? What about rain?  We get our share of rain here
(lately it seems) and some snow or ice in January or February so I do want
a tire that does well in bad weather. Anyone got a specific recommendation
of  a tire for both bad weather and good performance. Thanks.
