Yippe, Horaayh, ALRIGHT! I finally got a Miata Magazine in the mail. Is this the one from my memebership when I joined about a month and a half ago, NO. This is my complimentary copy for buying a Miata with the join the MCA stuff all over it. So when should I expect my membership copies to come in? I recieved teh Fall 1994 issue, and what do you MCA memebrs of long time have on your page 5? Mine has more join the MCA propaganda, but, but I already joined. Anyway the thing reminds me of the SEARS catalog the Wish Book from when I was a kid. The Ford MotorSport catalogs didn't even come close to this. So what did I do? I called up PBC and ordered the Mighty Products lighted rear-view mirror, (that is the recommendation of the list right?) $67.95, the Meguirs #10 and #17 special for $10.95!, the Miata logo valve stem caps $10 (I lost a factory one already!), and the 3 oil filters for $10!! (dealers around here want as much as $7.95 apiece), shipping was $6 and it all should be here by next week. Talked to (Al?) at great lenghts about forced induction systems for the Miata. Boy he really doesn't like the Downing Supercharger. All in all he was most helpful and I will more than likely purchase products from him again. I then called Reno Mazda about a Montego Blue R Package trunk lip spoiler. They said that Mazda has quit supplying the pre-painted spoilers so I would have to buy a primered one and have it painted. I am still deciding on this one. Roebuck wants $85.95 for the spoiler and an additional $75 to paint it M Blue Mica!! Local Mazda dealers want $129.95 (full retail) and they won't budge an inch! I asked the guy at PBC and he said he could get a primered one but I would be better off getting it from a dealer at the $85.95 price, he really can't compete with a dealer on some parts prices because dealers get an additional 5% rebate from Mazda. So I will probably buy the spoiler and have a local body shop paint it. Anyone have any experience with the MCA shift knob? It does look neat, all shiney and polished. Ever taken the stock shifter off? The thing weighs a ton! It is probably considered a lethal weapon in some states in hand-to-hand combat! But does this weight give the shifts a better feel? Why is it there? Remember this is the same company that drills its aluminum foot pedals on the RX-7 and brags about it. -Mac. '95 montego Blue - Leather with some new toys coming next week!
