Mac (a welcome addition to our "family") inquires: > My question is this my '95 is painted that Montego Blue concoction. >I wish I knew how they do that paint, is it metallic green with a blue >clear coat? Should I paint the mud guards the body colour? Will they >look right? Will it last or will it just start cracking? Does anyone >have any experience with this. Does Mazda have mud guards already >in the Montego Blue colour? ANy thoughts or suggestions would be a great >help. I have a neighbor who paints motorcycles (mostly Harleys) and he happened to see my Miata mag open to the Montego advertisement. Now he wants to paint his 1942? Indian motocycle this color, probably with lighter green or blue designs on top. Does anyone know the steps to paint Montego? I told Mark that my guess was base color, metallic clear coat, and regular clear coat. He said he could find the paints, but the method was what he needed, and he started talking about retractors and other paint terminology I didn't understand. BTW, if anyone in the Bay Area has a motorcycle they want custom painted, I highly recommend Mark McCann. Several of the bikes he's done have appeared in cycle magazines and on posters. Mac, have you heard from anyone re: your questions? Jeannie Boulder Creek, CA
