Subject: Re: 1.8L Supercharger cooling In-reply-to: Your message of "Fri, 20 Jan 1995 22:37:23 EST." <01HM310APDU08WWIAX@Jetson.UH.EDU> -------- Hey, Maybe Peter Farrell should call Norm Garrett to see how it is properly done, Jared's previous msg. claimed that the Sebring only raises the intake temp. by 30 deg. F, without the aid of an intercooler. :-> >From the pictures in SCI, the purple car looks like it has the Sebring plumbing. cheers, - Steve, who is just poking fun at all of this. >From: Jared Stack>> o Intercooler is not required. >> o The maximum temperture gain on a hot day for the Sebring application is >> 30 degrees net over the standard engine intake port temperture. > Talked to Peter Farrell today about his new "project." > He stated that the reason they went with the supercharger was because Mazda wanted to know how and if it could be done. The reason they put an intercooler on it was because they were getting charge temperatures in excess of 250 degrees, with only 6psi of boost. They had to cool that down some, it would be detrimental to the engine otherwise. With the intercooler I think he said teh charge temps were around 185 degrees,
