Simpson, Canberra? Due to a quirk in my e-mail, I have to send this to you through the Miata general posting. Sorry, folks! Unfortunately, I don't have first-hand experience with this. I saw what another person did as a finished peice of work. I noted the floor-pan was visible through the carpet-cut-out of the origional attachment point. I could see that the seat was now residing on the bottom of the floor to the rear of its origional position. He did say it was bolted through the floor-pan. The person who did this, Dan Daniels with the government's weather monitoring service, moved from Washington State to New Mexico about 3 years ago. So, I can't talk to him about how he did it or how the modification has served him over time. Sorry, Bill Allen
