Back on the list temporarily to get your expert advice... Put in all the Clearwater speakers and am very happy - wish I had done this sooner. But this did not solve a problem I was having with the passenger side door speaker; it rattles or distorts on some low tones. The sound is like a torn cone or a dirty connection. The original factory speaker, and of course the Clearwater, are intact - no cone problem or rubbing of the coil. I cleaned the connection at the radio when I installed the headrest speaker wiring. What is it? Could it be a problem with the stock radio output transistor? I think I can distinguish the various sympathetic resonances of things in the door, but the problem sound doesn't go away if I push on or dampen the door panel. So has anyone had to fight something like this? Would you recommend pulling the door apart and adding damping material? You can answer direct to my email address to keep the net chatter down, and thanks for any help that comes along! Robert Hull "Giallo"
