The stock shocks can easily handle 150 to 160 hp and you can buy them for a discount for about $60 each or perhaps a little less at a number of discount places that advertise in Miata Magazine. Unless you replace them yourself the labor costs could be significant so even if the adjustible aftermarket shocks are significantly more expensive, the difference for the lowest cost one (Konis) is only a small part of the total cost. I would be interested on the thoughts of others on which aftermarket shocks they would suggest for street use first and autocrossing second. Herb Samuels
