In response to Jack Scown regarding head room in the Miata:

Buy the Miata - you won't regret it.

I'm  6'3' tall and it has been my experience that I don't fit in most cars.
Chances are that if you have 1/2 inch clearence in the Miata you have 1/2 
inch clearence or less in most cars. The only reason you noticed this is 
probably because the Miata looks so short on the outside so that's the 
first thing you checked for. My wife and i recently bought a 1990 RX-7 (a 
much taller car) into which I do not fit without angling the 
seat back a great deal. This has been my experience with many "taller cars".
The Miata is a very deceptive in its interior space and while yes, I do 
have to angle the seat back somewhat, I still fit better into the Miata 
than most cars.

I like both of our cars, but given the choice I'll take the Miata over 
the RX-7 (or any other car for that matter) any time.

P.S. Does anyone else out there also have an RX-7 and have you been
