   I can only assume you do not mean to include the newest Supra in your
list of "sporty" cars, and I'm not sure how you put the newer Z cars in that
category either.  Further, while I'm no fan of the Camaro, calling a Capri a
sports car and ignoring the Camaro seems a little backward.

   My philosophy is this:  if an experienced driver in some car or another
can drive laps at Willow Springs faster in that car than in my Miata,
then who the hell am I to question whether that car is a sports car?  After
all, were I to engage in the sport of racing against such a vehicle with an
equal driver, presumably I'd get beaten.

P.S.  Then there's the insurance company standard, by which a Saturn SC1
nearly qualifies for a sports car surcharge because it has two doors.
