It's not the total weight at any given moment that will do the damage, it's the weight over an extended period. The softop is very flexible & stretchable, so it will recover from just about any weight placed for a short time, as long as it's not really deformed by sharp edges. But if that weight sits for a long time, I'd be worried about it permanently stretching it out. But the distance between the crossbrace spans is really pretty close... so I wouldn't think you would need to worry too much unless there's so much snow you can't make out the shape of the car.
