Some people have questioned the size of the Miata oil filter.  I'm not
sure if the small size bears any relationship to its filtering
ability.  However, when I had my BBR (Mazda U.K. approved) turbo 
conversion, the kit came with a Mazda filter which was larger than the 
one I normally got for the Miata.  This filter is supposed to be the 
one used by the turbocharged 323GTX so it may be a better performing 
filter.  The Mazda USA catalog # may be F2Y0 14 302A.  If there are any 
on the list (Jeff Maurer?) who has a 323GTX could you confirm that this 
is the filter for that car.
