Steve:  I know what OEM  filters are but what are OE+ filters.  Also
from what you say the filter number that I gave is recommended for
both the 323GTX and the 626 turbo.  Although Jeff posted that the
larger filter is not listed by Mazda for the GTX, they were available
up to 6 months ago.
