Been following all correspondence with interest. Enjoyable and interesting. On Mid-Life Crisis: Got my Miata at the end of December, a '95 White, Leather. (Still does not have a name, but considering "Junior" since my other car is an '88 626 LX with approximately 197,000 miles on it, something no one can believe.) I am 47 and not an impulse buyer, but went in my local dealership in October and saw a '94 Black, Leather. Had been wanting something like this for years, but always rationalized "NO". Several weeks later drove a new one (a mistake...since I then could not find a used one I liked as well even though I looked all over the State of Florida). Finally made the decision to buy a new one and went back to my dealer (Thornton Mazda) who had recently got this one in. And it is now mine!!! And I love it even though my 19 year old daughter (a Junior at the University of Georgia) said, "Dad, its SO impractical...!!!" I just said, "That's OK." and felt a twinge inside hoping she would not wait until she was 47 to do something like this for herself. What is so nice about it is that it is simply mine. No one else need know about it and it is not to impress anyone. Simply relaxation and enjoyment... And no mid-life crisis purchase... That being said (my input into the philosophical "mid-life crisis" question), I would appreciate some help/answers to some questions that have come up: --I have Liquid Glass to use as a wax. Does anyone else have experience with this? It was highly recommended by a freind who uses it on her '93 626. What other products are recommended? --I am considering purchase of a rear window pocket I have seen advertised through a company in NC. Does anyone else have experience with this? To me it appears to be a good investment. --I am also considering purchase of a trunk shield. Is this a good investment based on others experience? --What do people use for cleaning the rear window, both in and out? The same company advertises a product called "Mirror Glaze". This comes as both a cleaner and a polisher. Thoughts? Thanks in advance to all... Also, appears to be no local chapter of the Miata Club in the Tampa Bay area. Any interest from others in the area that may be reading this in forming one? Seemslike a great way to go!!! (Still waiting on my National Club Membership Kit although I was told it should be here any day.) Thanks to all...
