I am sorry that the news thread ever got brought up.

But... how about creating an addtional list called "miata-tech" and
make an alias for the current one as "miata-general"? 

Another concern that no one brought up is the sheer volume, I used 
to enjoy the italian-cars list tremendously until the mail volume 
got too great (largely because of silly threads, though no
where near the volume that I have seen here) that the list got 
shut off and we all have to live with the digest list. I can manipulate 
things with Gnu Emacs, but I still hate it.

How long until Johns Hopkins got pissed off? remember, we aren't
paying JHU to carry our mail for us.
