Brakes on the Miata are the same from 1990 - 1993. They all take the same parts, but Mazda has changed the compound of the pads (to help with wet braking problem) over the years, and I think the hardware used to mount the pads may have been improved also. (to help with noise) If your dealer had a lot of the older stock, do you think he would throw them away for the updated parts. Would he know the reason for updated pads. The old numbers are still good in his books. The superseded parts usualy have a different letter at the end of the part number.Bottom line is he will sell you what he has in stock. (I work for a dealer, I know) Just to make this conversation more bizzare, the latest pads for '93 are BROWN. Q. If I paint green pads brown will they stop better in the rain? Lester Seal
