As a certified Newbie(tm) to the list, I would like to leave it the way it
is. My daily digest is the first thing I read every morning. The suggestions
to have a parallel newsgroup (i.e., rec.auto.makers.mazda) sounds like the
best way to handle the needs of those who prefer Usenet access without
affecting those of us who love the list. While it makes sense to x-post from
the list to the newsgroup, I certainly wouldn't want the newsgroup x-posting
to the list. The volume of mail is bad enough without adding SPAM to the
problem!

I find that no matter how interested I am in a newsgroup, I eventually stop
reading it, due to poor signal/noise ratio.

Yes, the mailing list is elitist, but if I wasn't an elitist, I wouldn't have
bought a Miata!
