Alan Dahlsaid some things I agree with. >...In my mind this is the ideal situation, a general newsgroup for those >that don't want to be a mail list member and a mail list for those of us >interested in ... specifics.... >We could try a similar thing by proposing creation of a >rec.autos.makers.mazda group. Because it would be all Mazdas and not just >Miatas it would most likely pass the creation vote. 1. This mail list is great. It's a good resource. It's funny. I support the people that don't want it changed. 2. If someone starts a rec.autos.makers.mx5 or a rec.autos.makers.mazda as a separate newsgroup, that's good too. There is already a Miataville forum on Compuserve, as well as two miata forums on AOL. In my opinion, all these special interest groups can only encourage more people to become interested in miatas. Eventually they will buy miatas, used or new. A blip in sales is good for us owners. More aftermarket suppliers, lower prices for parts, etc. The explosion in electronic information is amazing. I can login into a Web site and get a stock chart for TRW, or a Miata GIF, or the dealer invoice prices for a car. I can also get a lot of junk and drivel, but that comes with the territory. We'll all have to deal with it in the long run. So I hope the mail list runs forever, but I'll put my usenet vote in if someone wants a mazda/mx5 group in addition to it. Being from Chicago, where the old Mayor Daley stole the 1960 election for JFK, you should know that we vote early, and often :-) Just kidding. Harry Sue hsue@ih.ixserve.att.com
