(if you saw the movie, you know what i'm talking about) seriously, though, here in VA at least, on I-66, during certain hours the right shoulder *IS* a lane! i commute on that road every day, and believe me, with all the out-of-towners confused by the DC/Metro area, this is just beyond comprehension (especially when the lanes are 'closed' but people don't realize) to some.
