It's a great way to avoid speeding tickets; i.e., the cop pulls you over for speeding, you pass the attitude test, he writes you up for the parking lights ($?) or no front plate ($10) instead of speeding ($85+). As far as I know, no self-respecting cop in this area would bother to pull a car over for ONLY driving with parking lights--especially where I drive (mountain road commute watched intermittently by the highway patrol). Jeannie & Wendy Driving like this since March 1991--pulled over four times for "going a little too fast", warning only three times, no-front-plate fix-it ticket once.
