1. Absolutely, I want to leave everything looking stock. No door tweeters, etc. In addition, I don't relish the idea of drilling any new holes to mount the new speakers. Ok, but door tweeters have been stock on some cars...2. Next would be sound quality. I want a noticable improvement in the low end (bass) vs. stock. I'm slightly less concerned about an improvement in the midrange and highs but this is important as well. My gut feeling is that just about ANY quality speaker would be an improvement over stock in these areas. This is true. My car had 25W stock speakers. Anything would be an improvement. 3. My final concern is price. Granted, I would love to find speakers that meet #1 & #2 above but sell for 1/2 the price of the Clearwaters but if everyone agrees that Clearwaters are the ABSOLUTE way to go... then I'll shell out the bucks. Have you considered the Clearwater Jr. speakers? I have the Clearwater mains and amp, and it gives PLENTY of power. Perhaps the Jr's are what you are looking for without the price tag. They are ~$139 vs. the $160 you were planning on spending for the Sony's. After installing the Clearwater mains and amp in my car, I would strongly recommend them over any other product for the Miata. Damn nice sound and cheaper than what local cheap-sound places wanted to put in the car. Still looks completely stock and sounds terrific! -- /========/ LearnLink: Expanding Educational Horizons !! !! !! Internet/Telnet: bbs.learnlink.emory.edu !! !! !!
