Does >this sound right? > >Steve > Steve-- I found that on our Miata, after 25k miles, the tires were wearing on the edges more than evenly, so I bumped the tires up to 30#. We are up to 45k miles now, but will have to wait until the tires are replaced, probably this summer, to find out how 30# effects the wear pattern. There is an old drag racers trick to find the correct pressure for max. traction by doing burn outs and examining the rubber pattern in the road. Unfortunately, this is not enough pressure to keep the tires from rolling while cornering, which is not a drag racing thing. This method doesn't work very well on independent suspensions either. ____ Jim Simmons, R&D Director, Airship Remote Technologies E-mail: jsimmons@ainet.com Snail: 1050 North Carpenter Road, Ste E, Modesto, CA, USA Phone: +1-209-578-9565 FAX: 549-8784 Building tomorrows airships for the business of today.
