There's a solution to the above, in every state. Take the back roads. You can't average as well on them as on the interstate (they usually are a longer route and there's too much farm traffic to pass anyway), but what the hell, if you're in a state where they have speed nazis, you might as well take the scenic route. Your chances of getting tagged with a big time speeding ticket are probably no worse (and perhaps better, especially if you have some electronic avoidance goodies - the cops are likely using the lower tech stuff on the back roads, if at all) than on the interstate. Besides, the back roads are a LOT more interesting and more fun, especially in a Miata. --Jack M. & (blue highways and car) KANSEI--
