After seeing these posts on air horns, I had to install a set. Brand-X, $24.99, plastic horns, no hook-up wire, no lugs, no fuse, and no bifocals to read the tiny schematic. Just like the Hella kit? I saw a $43 kit with alloy horns, but I bought the smallest size. How did Dennis HeRR get a 4.5 inch diameter compressor into his car? None of the kit hardware, except for the bolts that fit the horns was of any help for my '94. I kept the OEM horn. The compressor was mounted next to it, and the trumpets hang behind the hood latch. For power, I soldered a wire to a 25A fuse and plugged it into the empty slot in the fuse box that only has one contact. With ready-made brackets, and a pre-wired relay, this would be a one hour job. As it was, I took 5 hours, most of it scrounging for bracket materials, solder, and lock washers in my junk box. You also work slower when it's only 45 degrees. Brrrr. The horns sound nice. I hope they last. I'd like to run the new relay's ground wire to a cockpit switch to only use the OEM horn if needed. Before I start drilling the firewall, I'm open to tips on where to put a hole and grommet? The area in front of the glove compartment seems to be the most accessible. Harry Sue Naperville. IL
