From: CHARLES FERGUSON CEF Subj:TIRES, BRACES, SHIMMY Howdy, I have a 92 Blk SE ( C Pkg ) and have made several additions which I thought I'd comment on. TIRES : Original tires were Dunlop and due to unrepairable flat tire replaced all four with Dunlop SP8000 195/55-14. I Like them :-) If you do the calculation they are about 1-2% smaller than original at first they were VERY quiet, but they have become noisier ( after 9k miles ) local Dunlop rep. looked at them and said "I was having too much fun with them" edges were getting feathered, hence the noise. BRACES : Well I happen to travel at 65 quite a bit and the shakes are bothersome ( SP8000 didn't seem to affect problem ) I have installed the BRAINSTORM Rear Bulkhead Brace ( between seatbelt towers ) and the Front Subframe Brace, they helped a bit but didn't get rid of shakes, Friday installed GREX Strut Brace underhood, it seems to tighten up the car nicly, but the shakes are still there :-( next step is go have tire balence checked?? I doubt it could be shock related miata has 16.5K miles. LIGHTS : I have a catalog from OPTIONS AUTO SALON in Glendale, CA they have exterior and interior light bulbs available in several different colors ( R/B/G some Y ).
