I would like to warn anyone with an early '90 Miata that bought it used, to
be sure the detent in the transmission has been modified, and the back up
light switch up dated.
I just had a club members car towed in this week with the transmission stuck
in reverse. The car had 40,000 miles.
He bought the car used.
This was not a recall or a bulletin, it was a "Special Service Program" and
it ran from Oct 23, 1989 -   Oct 22, 1990.
If you are in doubt, have your dealer check it at your next oil change. If
they don't know about SSP11, then find another dealer.

If I remember right, it happened to someone at Indy II. It can ruin your day.
