Last year, a member of our club (SOCALM) lost control on a wet road and ended up rolling his '90 Classic Red A-package down a soft embankment. Neither the driver nor his wife was seriously injured (seriously shook-up though). The Miata actually faired pretty well too. The soft top was pretty ripped up (top was up due to the rain), passenger side window broke, both outside mirrors were history, MAJOR dent in front driver side fender. Other than that, the car had mostly cosmetic damage (lots of scratches and minor dimples in sides, hood, etc.). Upon my recommendation, the owner took his car to a local "restoration" type of auto body shop. The type of place that specializes in restoring fine motorcars (Jags, etc.). Well, after a bit of bargaining with the insurance company (they baulked at the $9K repair estimate), the car was repaired and repainted (every single panel) at the restoration place. These guys took their time to do it RIGHT! They actually REMOVE things like side lights, trim and even the windshield before painting a given panel. No tell-tale paint on the trim at this place! I had a chance to see the car (both before and after) and I gotta say that this place did an AMAZING job. I wouldn't hesitate to take my Miata to these folks. In fact, since my front end (bumper, hood and fenders) is already a mess of little tiny rock chips (not to mention the dent in the hood from the flying diet coke can), I plan to have this place repair and repaint my front end. The place is located in San Diego (Santee) and is called AUTOWERKS. Mark - '92 B Classic Red, MCA, SOCALM, Team Voodoo, Team Clearwater
