From: dherr@extro.ucc.su.OZ.AU (Dennis J. HeRR) Subject: Sonic wave inside Miata :) Date: Wed, 3 May 1995 07:11:38 -0400
What a shocka! While I test driving Momo chan with the new air box, suddenly there was sonic shock wave at 3000RPM in second gear. The whole facia as well as glove box were rattled as if they were put next to 1000 MW speakers. Upon arriving home, I checked the engine room to see something was wrong before I dismantle the facia. Shocka, shocka! The pipe connecting between the negine and the air flow unit was unpluged and the engine was sucking air without air filter. :( It seems the pipe was partially attached and when the engine vibrated at certain RPM, it resonated and hence the sonic shock wave. I'll see if it's gone tomorrow - it's too dark outside and beside I don't want to wake up neighbours. :) BTW, with the new box, Momo chan now has very distinctive deep bass sound which I just love - I'm big fan of techno man.
