responded directly to what still concerns me: his conflicts of interest as
editor with those of his interests as entrepreneur.

Notice that he carefully said that neither the club nor the magazine had
any interest in or revenues from Miata products (other than the infamous
knob, which is pretty well history by now). What he did not say is whether
he, Norman Garrett, had any interest in products or vendors - something
which several people have suggested in the past.

This is not to say that he is not a great guy - just that I'm not entirely
comfortable with what I read (or used to read) in the magazine.

And when was the last time that substantive text (other than those
uninspired fiction fillers) approached anything like 65% of the content of
the magazine?
