for those complaining about "off-topic" postings, let me just
note that in last night's digest, i tallied approx:
   40  articles apparently about miata stuff
   32  articles about listserver rules, topic gestapos, threats, etc.

it took me approx 15 seconds to scan the list and discover that
there appeared to be nothing i was interested in reading.
this was ever faster than reading each non-miata article and hitting
the 'd' key.  i agree, some form of restraint is needed, but
my vote goes for 'self-restraint'.

the best way to keep down off-topic traffic is to NOT POST articles
that are unlikely to be of common interest, and to NOT RESPOND
(at least publicly) to such articles.

let's all stop crabbing and get back to drivin'!
